Short advices and some stuff from last journey
"A bit about Barcelona, Sardinia and Italy in general" | in: updates | comments: ON
Just few hours back from the big journey Italy-Germany-Spain, and few short notices we learned hard way so you don't have to repeat mistakes we did :) (it's a bit random, but perhaps Google will index it right)

• It's possible to get from Girona airport to Barcelona for half the price of the bus (12 euros one way) or less. However would not recommend since some of the roads don't have sidewalks. If you want, go to Riudellots de la Selva (4 km), train from there costs only 6.40 Euros, but be careful since station is being renovated right now and you can buy tickets only on train.

• A lesson learned: return ticked for train in Spain has to be used same day, not the other.

• When people say that in Sardinia public transport is terrible, believe them, it's true. Basically if you are planning to go around Sardinia with public transport, just don't plan anything on Sunday. And if you know about Trenino Verde, don't forget that it doesn't run on Tuesday.

• Do not stay in Pini E Mare camping near Cagliari, Capitano. They advertise as three stars but.. Really crappy one, avoid if possible.
On the other hand - stay in camping Telis near Arbatax, this one is really great. A bit more expensive (22 Euros for 2 people and tent in mid season) but the view even from your tent is nothing less but amazing!

• I'm still not sure why, but food prices in Sardinia's biggest city Cagliari somehow are bigger than in small towns who seems to be selling things only for tourists. Also, food prices in Italy are really high everywhere. After that Spain and Germany looked so appealing.

• Note to self: check for any incoming industry strikes and such, to avoid situations where one canceled flight can leave you in Milan Bergamo without a clue what to do next.

Some photos coming up some time later :)
